Justice Minister To Look into Appeals

Although as reported last week SKAT has made more moves into Europe, there are appeals outstanding in the Scottish courts.  At the regular weekly SKAT meeting held in the Gathering Hall Portree, Acting Vice-Convener, Ron Shapland read out a letter received from Justice Minister Jim Wallace in response to the SKAT delegation to Holyrood last month.

Mr Wallace advises that he has written to the Lord Advocate "taking up the points raised ... at the meeting and in particular the choice of Sheriff Court used and that within his own Justice Department. I have made enquiries about delays in Appeal Court Hearings."
